Dublin's new Convention Centre on Spencer Dock IRELAND
During the 9th century, it is believed the Vikings founded what is now known as Dublin. The Vikings established a key maratime area, in doing so the area grew into a city, and the area’s port continued to grow and prosper. Many centuries followed and the influence of English architecture and commerce around the time of the 17th century, Dublin during the early part of the 18th century was possibly the second largest city of the British Empire, and only London could claim to be larger. Dublin in the early 20th century historians may say, was drawn into the start of a downturn, which lasted many years, again some historians may argue as to the begining of the cities economic turnaround, whether it started in the mid 70’s or the 80’s, the capitol of Ireland was growing and attracting new businesses and industry from around the world, who rightfully believed in the opportunity Ireland has to offer. Nowadays Dublin and Ireland attracts people from around the globe, the city is one of the most popular to visit offering you culture, arts and of course literature that inspired todays writers and poets the same as it did in the past among those being Kavanagh, Shaw, Beckett, Wilde, Joyce and Yeats.

Australia is known for its sport fanatical inhabitants, the country boasts more than 120 national sporting organisations and thousands of local and regional sports society. It is estimated that of the 21 million people currently living in Australia, more than six and a half million of them are registered sports participants. Australia is a nation of swimmers with plenty of Olympic medals to prove it. Other popular sports include Cricket and Tennis, of which the Australian Open, held in Melbourne attracts more tourists to Australia than any other sporting event. Australia is also famed for water sports such as diving, snorkelling and sailing, all of which can be tried on one of Australia’s many beaches.
With more than 80 per cent of Australians living within 50 kilometres of the coast the beach has come to represent the laid back and cheerful nature of Australian culture, and it’s no wonder considering the country is home to more than 10,000 beaches. Australian beaches have long since been places not only to relax in the sunshine but to play sport, socialise and often celebrate, with New Years Eve, Christmas and Australian Day commonly welcoming wild beach parties. Some of Australia’s most famous beaches include Bondi and Palm Beach in Sydney, Glenelg in Adelaide and Cottesloe beach in Perth.
Australia is home to a varied and vibrant art scene and this can be seen within the numerous galleries, museums and theatres found throughout the country. Australians flock to movies, music concerts and dance performances with the attendance at galleries and performing arts standing at almost double to that of football matches. Australia is home to the world famous Sydney Opera House when you can enjoy an endless array of plays, ballet and operatic performances.
Further activities and sights not to be missed include The Great Barrier Reef, a 2,600 kilometre explosion of colour, which is so vast, it can be seen in space and if you have never tried snorkelling or diving before this is certainly the place to start. Kangaroo Island is also worth a visit, located just a short distance from the Southern coast, this reserve is seven times the size of Singapore and is home to seals, koalas, wallabies and penguins to name but a few.
Australia - facts
In land area, Australia is the sixth largest country in the world after Russia, Canada, China, the United States of America and Brazil. Australia is the only nation to govern an entire continent and its outlying islands. It has, however, a relatively small population, with a density of just two people per square kilometre. Australia is approximately the same size as the 48 mainland states of the USA and is over twice the size of Europe. known for its ethnic diversity and varied culture, more than 200 languages are spoken within Australian homes including Greek, Cantonese and Italian. Today, more than 20 per cent of Australians are foreign born with more than six million people emigrating to Australia since 1945.
The mainland is the largest island and the smallest, flattest continent on Earth. It lies between 10° and 39° South latitude. The highest point on the mainland, Mount Kosciuszko, is only 2228 metres. Apart from Antarctica, Australia is the driest continent.
Australia is the driest inhabited continent on earth. Its interior has one of the lowest rainfalls in the world and about three-quarters of the land is arid or semi-arid. Its fertile areas are well-watered, however, and these are used very effectively to help feed the world. Sheep and cattle graze in dry country, but care must be taken with the soil. Some grazing land became desert when the long cycles that influence rainfall in Australia turned to drought.
The Australian federation consists of six States and two Territories. Most inland borders follow lines of longitude and latitude. The largest State, Western Australia, is about the same size as Western Europe.
Economy
Australia has had one of the most outstanding economies of the world in recent years. As a high-growth, low-inflation, low interest rate economy, it is more vibrant than ever before. There is an efficient government sector, a flexible labour market and a very competitive business sector.
With its abundant physical resources, Australia has enjoyed a high standard of living since the nineteenth century. It has made a comparatively large investment in social infrastructure, including education, training, health and transport.
The Australian workforce has seen many improvements over the last decade, leading to the surge in productivity in the 1990s. The complex and centralised award based industrial relations system has given way to a more decentralised one with many employees working under workplace agreements tailored to meet enterprise needs.
Below are just a small selection of visuals showing the vast array and diversity that Australia has to offer. We thank Martyn Gregory from the Gold Coast, for his help and support.

More than anywhere else in the country, it is in Moscow where the Soviet past collides with the capitalist future. Lenin's Mausoleum remains intact, but today it faces the newly chic GUM (pronounced goom), which is becoming ever more akin to Macy's or Harrod's.
Yet, as the new Moscow emerges, it is becoming increasingly clear that any move into the future will be marked by a strong appreciation of the city's rich and varied heritage--a heritage that vastly pre-dates the era of Soviet rule. Indeed, the most striking aspect of the city today is not Moscow's much-publicized embrace of Western culture but its self-assured revival of its own traditions. Ancient cathedrals are being restored and opened for religious services, innovative theatres are reclaiming leadership in the arts, and traditional markets are coming back to life. Moscow is once more assuming its position as the capital and mother city of the ancient state of Russia.
As well as being Russia's richest city, Moscow is also one of its most culturally sophisticated, helped by world-class artistic institutions like the Bolshoi Theatre, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. Moscow is also proud of its great writers, playwrights, composers, choreographers, and film-makers, and their works are still regularly presented to the public at venues around the city. Due to Stalin's architectural make-over, Moscow doesn't quite have the Baroque perfection of St Petersburg.
Based around the star-topped towers of the Kremlin, Moscow is one of the most instantly known cities in the world. From St Basil's Cathedral and Red Square to Stalin's Seven Sisters and Gorky Park, the city is full of recognisable landmarks, and even the stations of the Moscow Metro are an architectural tour de force. The city's pre-revolutionary past lives on in its icon-filled Orthodox churches and cathedrals, which are enjoying a renaissance after the restrictions of the Soviet era were lifted. Today, Muscovites are looking forwards rather than backwards to a brave new world of consumer goods, fine dining, luxury cars and extravagance. Visitors should be prepared for the fact that Moscow is one of the world's most expensive cities

British Airways flights to Kuwait land at Kuwait International Airport, around ten
miles south of Kuwait City. Taxis or buses will take you to the centre of Kuwait
City. Soon after your Kuwait flight lands you'll be sipping a strong Turkish coffee
– or trying a shisha hubble-bubble pipe - in one of Kuwait City's coffee houses.
The observation deck at Kuwait Towers is a good place for an aerial orientation of
the city after your Kuwait flight. To round off your first day in Kuwait City, choose
traditional Arabic cuisine or anything from sushi to steak in one of Salmiya's many
restaurants.
JERSEY
British Airways' flights to Jersey land at Jersey Airport. Once your Jersey flight
touches down, hop on a bus to Jersey's capital, St Helier, six miles east of the
airport. British Airways also operates regular flights to London from Jersey. Make
the most of Jersey's tax-free shopping, good seafood restaurants and lively nightlife
in St Helier. Explore 13th-century Mont Orgueil, built to protect Jersey against
the French, then take a flight forwards in time at the fascinating, but poignant,
Jersey War Tunnels.
