WHAT IS LUPUS?
System Lupus Erythematosus – “Lupus” -
It can affect any organ of the body but most frequently it damages the heart, joints, skin, lungs, blood vessels, liver, kidneys, and nervous system and it is now recognised as one of the most important and common illnesses of modern times.
The course of the disease is unpredictable, with periods of illness (called “flares”) alternating with remissions.
All ages can be affected, but the most common sufferers are young females, the peak ages being between 18 and 45.
In the 1950s, most people diagnosed with SLE Lupus lived fewer than five years; however, although there is still no cure, advances in diagnosis of the condition and treatment of the attendant symptoms have improved the outlook beyond recognition in recent years for most sufferers – but only if they are diagnosed and given the correct treatment.
Unfortunately one of the biggest problems facing most Lupus sufferers remains that of getting the condition correctly diagnosed in the first place.
Common initial and chronic complaints include fever, malaise, joint pains, muscle pains, fatigue, rashes (in particular many sufferers seem to develop a distinctive “butterfly” shaped rash on their faces, which frequently become more pronounced where the sufferer is experiencing one of the periodic “flares), allergies, depression, kidney failure and temporary loss of cognitive abilities.
Unfortunately these are all symptoms which are frequently seen in association with
other diseases -
Because SLE symptoms vary widely and come and go unpredictably, diagnosis can be elusive, with some people suffering unexplained symptoms of untreated SLE for years.
Up to 50,000 people in the UK may have Lupus, around 90% of whom are female.
SOMEONE YOU KNOW MAY HAVE LUPUS

THE BEATLES “A HARD DAY’S NIGHT” 2x video’s, originally recorded 1964, both copies are special edition released in 1995, which includes 18 minutes of rare bonus footage.
Featuring the Beatles hits, I CRY INSTEAD, A HARD DAY’S NIGHT, I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER, CAN’T BUY ME LOVE, IF I FAIL, AND I LOVE HER, I’M HAPPY JUST TO DANCE WITH YOU, RINGO’S THEME (THIS BOY), TELL ME WHY, DON’T BOTHER ME, I WANNA BE YOUR MAN, A MY LOVING, SHE LOVE’S YOU. (in perfect condition) played once £15 each plus postage (to be agreed)
The music programme from the 60’s “READY STEADY GO” volume one. Original footage of the time with some acts seen at the start of their careers and possibly their first appearance on TV. This video is very collectable, republished and released in 1983 by the famous Dave Clark (of Dave Clark five).
Containing approximately 55 minutes of some of the very best music of the time in its original form as it was shown on TV at the time. Very early BEATLES singing “YOU CAN’T DO THAT” and “CAN’T BUY ME LOVE” also being interviewed. Dusty Springfield singing “EVERY DAY I HAVE TO CRY” first or very very early interview of THE ANIMALS TV appearance also singing “BABY LET ME TAKE YOU HOME”. Very early TV appearance and interview of Cilla Black also singing “YOUR MY WORLD”. Billy Fury singing “I WILL”. For Van Morrison fans, when he was just one of the boys and an unknown, singer (although even then his voice was brilliant)
Fronting the band “THEM” in possibly his first TV appearance, singing “BABY PLEASE
DON’T GO”. Very early appearance of the young Lulu singing “SHOUT”. Look very carefully
at the next act as some of you would recognise one or two musicians who in their
own right went on and became famous, Georgie Fame and THE BLUE FLAMES singing “YEAH
YEAH”, the next young lady possibly her second or third appearance but looking very
confident at the start of her career as a singer, did not know at the time that she
would be working for Virgin records in the 90’s, in management (no mention about
the shoes). Sandy Shaw singing “GIRL DON’T COME”. THE SEARCHERS, singing “WHAT HAVE
THEY DONE TO THE RAIN”, the very young and again in the early stage of his career
singing to many his most popular song and today is still a favourite of many “FERRY
ACROSS THE MERSEY” plus interview from GERRY and the PACEMAKERS. Strange but true
and somehow it fits in among all these top bands and singers imagine the audience
of this early music show probably one of the first of it’s kind and before TOP OF
THE POPS, to witness the next act Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore being interviewed
and singing “GOODBYE-
For the reason stated above and possibly the rarity of this black and white early recording all of which is in very good quality the video has only been played a couple of times, this is why the asking price of £25 plus postage (to be agreed)
Finally, a SIXTIES MIX showing 25 acts from the sixties in black and white this video was remixed and released in 1988. Points of interest the sole distributor was STYLUS VIDEO, based at ABBEY ROAD industrial park, ABBEY ROAD, LONDON.
Showing Lulu and Luvvers singing “SHOUT”, Gerry and the Pacemakers singing “HOW DO YOU DO IT”, The Animals “BABY LET ME TAKE YOU HOME”, The Who “I CAN’T EXPLAIN”, the classic song “JUMPING JACK FLASH” by The Rolling Stones, The Hollies singing “HERE I GO AGAIN” sadly hardly heard anymore a brilliant song “MOCKINGBIRD HILL” by Migil 5, the popular Dave Berry singing “LITTLE THINGS”, Millie singing “MY BOY LOLLYPOP”, Billy J. Kramer singing (Lennon / McCartney) song “BAD TO ME”, The Merseybeats “DON’T TURN AROUND”, Brian Poole and the Tremeloes “SOMEONE SOMEONE”, “JULIETTE” The Four Pennies, and many more classics (full list available if required.
Good condition, asking price £20 plus postage (to be agreed)
